RECEIVING EUCHARIST Receiving the Eucharist on the tongue while kneeling before the pope will become the norm at papal liturgies, said the Vatican’s liturgist. While current norms allow the faithful to receive the Eucharist in the hand while standing, Pope Benedict XVI has indicated a preference for the more traditional practice. Kneeling and receiving Communion on the tongue highlights “the truth of the real presence (of Christ) in the Eucharist helps the devotion of the faithful and introduces the sense of mystery more easily.
For those who find it difficult to kneel, standing will be accepted.
Quote of the Week The Tabernacle is my place of rest, the Holy Eucharist is my life, the Cross is my Portion, Mary is my Mother, Heaven is my hope. |

Please notify the office when someone’s health improves so we can remove them from our prayer list. It is of great importance for us to be notified of anyone who is in the hospital or going through surgery. Please contact the church office. Moving or changing your phone number or your address? Please contact the Parish office to let us know so that we can update our records. We ask you to please refrain from throwing anything, with the exception of coins, into the pond because they will get sucked into the filter and damage the pump and filter systems. Summer is here and so is the hot weather. It is important to remember that the Holy Mass is not the beach or a picnic. Please respect the sanctity of the church and sacraments by dressing modestly for Mass. Refrain from wearing shorts, dresses or tops that are strapless or that have spaghetti straps. Bare shoulders must be covered with a sweater or shawl.
For those of you who travel to church while chewing gum, please remove the gum before leaving your car. Throw the gum onto the floor of your car rather than tossing the gum onto the church walk or in the courtyard. Also, please do not put your gum anywhere on the pews or carpet! BUSINESS OWNERS: Have you thought about advertising in your church bulletin? Seeing your ad every week in the parish bulletin is one of the best returns for your advertising dollar.
